Higgsfield vs Runway (2026): Prices, Models and Cost per Clip
Pick Higgsfield if you want lots of models plus ad and character tools in one place, and the lowest cost per clip on shared models like Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0; pick Runway if you want its own Gen-4.5 model, built-in video editing and a cheaper way in at $12 a month billed yearly.
These two overlap more than they used to. Both sell Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and Veo 3.1 from one credit balance. So the real questions are which extras you’ll use and what each clip costs you. We pay for Higgsfield and use it for short ad and social video, so that side is first-hand. The Runway side is built from Runway’s published numbers.

Plans and prices side by side
Higgsfield (from Higgsfield’s own plan terms and pricing page, covered in our Higgsfield pricing breakdown): Starter $15 a month, Plus $49, Ultra $129 or $99 a month billed yearly. Team seats start at $79. We’ve been on Ultra with yearly billing since July 2026, and our account gets 3,000 credits a month.
Runway (from Runway’s pricing page on October 8, 2026):
- Free: 125 credits, one time.
- Standard: $12 a month billed yearly, $15 monthly, 625 credits a month.
- Pro: $28 billed yearly, $35 monthly, 2,250 credits. Adds unlimited 4K video upscaling, a brand kit, one custom voice clone and Runway’s MCP connection.
- Max: $76 billed yearly, $95 monthly, 9,500 credits. Unused credits roll over for one month, and it adds HDR and ProRes output.
Runway doesn’t sell unlimited generation anymore. Its Unlimited plan closed to new subscribers on June 1, 2026, per Higgsfield’s September plan comparison, and Runway’s current page lists only Free, Standard, Pro and Max.
What one 5-second clip costs on each
Credits aren’t worth the same on the two platforms, so we converted them to dollars. Higgsfield math uses our Ultra yearly plan: $99 for 3,000 credits, about 3.3 cents a credit. Runway math uses Pro yearly ($28 for 2,250, about 1.2 cents a credit) and Max yearly ($76 for 9,500, about 0.8 cents). Credit costs are each vendor’s published rates at 1080p (without audio where the vendor splits it out).
| 5-second 1080p clip | Higgsfield Ultra (yearly) | Runway Pro (yearly) | Runway Max (yearly) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0 | ~8 credits, about $0.26 | 45 credits (Standard tier), about $0.56 | about $0.36 |
| Seedance 2.0 | ~45 credits, about $1.49 | 200 credits, about $2.49 | about $1.60 |
| Gen-4.5 | Not available | 60 credits, about $0.75 | about $0.48 |
On the models both sell, Higgsfield came out cheaper per clip in every case we priced. Runway Max gets close on Seedance. Two caveats: this assumes you spend every credit you pay for, and Higgsfield’s pricing page doesn’t say whether its Kling 3.0 figure is the Standard or Pro tier. On Runway, Kling 3.0 Pro runs 12 credits a second instead of 9, so 60 credits for the same clip.
Models: what’s shared and what’s exclusive
Higgsfield’s own July 2026 comparison lists five models on both platforms: Seedance 2.0, Kling 3.0, WAN 2.6, Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni Flash. Both catalogs go well beyond those five. Runway’s model table, for example, also lists Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3 and LTX 2.5.
The one model you can’t get on Higgsfield is Gen-4.5, Runway’s own flagship. Higgsfield says so itself. Need Gen-4.5? Then it’s Runway. Runway also has its own tools for changing footage you already have: Aleph 2.0 for editing and restyling clips with text instructions, Act-Two for animating a character from a performance video, and Ruby for turning standard video into HDR.
Tools beyond the models
Higgsfield leans toward ads and social content. Per Higgsfield, Soul ID trains a character from your photos and keeps the same face across models. Marketing Studio turns a product URL into ad assets. Cinema Studio sets camera moves, and LipSync Studio handles talking video. The Supercomputer agent can run a whole project from one chat. Its 365-day image set is the closest thing either platform has to unlimited generation. It only works on the website, though, not the API or Marketing Studio.
Runway’s extras are aimed at people finishing real productions. Every paid plan gets all of its models, music, voice and sound effects, and an AI assistant for building projects. Pro and Max add a brand kit, voice cloning, unlimited 4K upscaling and an MCP connection for working from other AI tools. Max adds HDR and ProRes output, which matters if your clips go into a professional edit.
Who should pick which
- Pick Higgsfield if you make ads or social clips, want the same AI character across many videos, or mostly use Kling and Seedance. That’s our use, and it’s why we pay for Ultra.
- Pick Runway if you want Gen-4.5, need to edit or restyle existing footage, or deliver to a pro edit that wants HDR or ProRes.
- Pick Runway Standard if you just want to try AI video for $12 a month and don’t need ad tools.
- Look elsewhere if unlimited video is the must-have. Neither sells it. Our Higgsfield alternatives page covers the options that do.

FAQ
Is Higgsfield better than Runway?
It depends on the job. Higgsfield is better for ad and social content and costs less per clip on shared models like Kling 3.0. Runway is better if you want its Gen-4.5 model or tools for editing existing footage.
Is Higgsfield cheaper than Runway?
Per clip on the models both sell, yes in our math: a 5-second 1080p Kling 3.0 clip is about $0.26 on Higgsfield Ultra yearly versus about $0.56 on Runway Pro yearly. Runway’s entry plan is cheaper, though: $12 a month billed yearly versus $15 for Higgsfield Starter.
Can you use Runway Gen-4.5 on Higgsfield?
No. Gen-4.5 is Runway’s own model and is only available on Runway.
Does either have an unlimited plan?
Not for video. Higgsfield Plus and Ultra include a 365-day set of six image models that don’t use credits. Runway closed its Unlimited plan to new subscribers on June 1, 2026.
